What’s Scalp Micropigmentation or Scalp Micro Pigmentation?
This is an Overview of Scalp Micropigmentation, receding hairline, hair density, camouflaging hair loss ...
I’ll refer to Scalp Micropigmentation, by its common abbreviation of SMP.
First, let me say this; it's a procedure that is both an art and a science.
And the reason why I say that is because people’s requirements of SMP may differ.
I’ll take a few minutes to explain some of the more common details about this procedure.
It's a semi permanent hair loss concealment treatment for both men and women.
SMP can be used for reconstructing a receding hairline, increasing the appearance of hair density, camouflaging hair loss due to conditions like alopecia, hormone changes due to menopause and to help men alleviate the negative effects of male pattern baldness.
SMP is also great for concealing scars on the scalp caused by medical procedures or otherwise.
It's a treatment that can be applied one time or multiple times.
Unlike other hair loss treatments, SMP is a very effective camouflaging technique that gives immediate results with minimal inconveniences.
This is a safe, non-invasive, and highly effective cosmetic procedure that uses tiny dots of a specially designed carbon based ink.
The ink is deposited into the top two layers of skin.
Little pockets of pigment replicate shadows of hair follicles, creating the semi-permanent appearance of a fuller head of hair that can last for years.
As an artist, through the use of SMP, I’ve worked on a wide variety of clients to improve their appearance.
For example, one of my clients from Riverside came to me for a hair density treatment because he wanted to improve his appearance as he was reentering the workforce after coming out of retirement.
In doing so, this treatment gave him a lot of positive energy, as a result from feeling good about the improvement in his appearance, which in turn gave me a lot of positive energy.
